Wayne Lynch 7’2″ Semi Gun Thruster – Early Patagonia

This was a special board Wayne designed and rode the design in 1970 – it was called “The Widow Maker”

Wayne also rode it in Bali in the early 70’s and it was one of the first boards made for Patagonia, Torquay, approximately 10 years ago. Wayne is still a brand ambassador for Patagonia. The board is still in brand new shape and condition.

WAYNE LYNCH – EVOLUTION MODEL REPLICA (No.26 of 40) (SOLD)

SOLD

Around 10 years ago we spoke to Wayne Lynch and discussed doing a Limited Edition run of “The Evolution” Model.

This was the board that changed surfing forever in 1968. A 7’10” Single Fin. The board is identical to the one on the 1968 ‘Evolution’ poster (photograph taken at Palm Beach).

Wayne made 40 Evolution boards for the 40th Anniversary of the Poster/Movie/Board.

We sold the boards with a rare Original ‘Evolution Involvement’ poster and history by Wayne, signed to frame.  The boards sold very quickly.

Wayne was also the star of the ‘Evolution’ movie. He was doing 360’s down the face, and undertaking upside-down re-entrants in the curl – All unheard of back then. The World looked in Awe. Wayne could ride switch too.

Two Collectors have asked us to sell their Evolution Model Boards (with posters and Certs), so we now have two available! They are brand new and unridden. Having said that, some of our collectors are surfing theirs at Bells rather than just hanging them on the wall.

Limited Edition Boards have been numbered and signed.

Comes with Original Poster, Story and Certification from Wayne.

WHITE KITE – LATE 60’s (SOLD)

SOLD

6-10”

Shaped by the legendary Ted Spencer who starred in “Morning of the Earth” and “Evolution”.  Made at Shane Surfboards.

This design and logo was used during the making of evolution with Wayne Lynch and Nat Young. We do not know whether this board was used by any of the legends in the making of Evolution, but it’s of that era.

Ted actually rode boards around 5’4” – unheard of back then

We are talking late 60’s board

Great Condition – 8/10

Great Collectable

WOOD OKANUIE 1950’s

Wood Okanui 9’9″ – around 1956-1957

Round deck, round solid rails, round bottom. Copied from America’s 1956 Balsas.
Balsa in Australia was either too expensive or poor quality.
This design was a lot more flexible than our Toothpicks and Longboards.

Later in life this board was used as an advertising piece for Adlers Surf Shop. The Adlers family has over 4 generations – 82 years – involved in surfing. The first ‘surf shop’ in Byron Bay was the “San Juan”, owned by the Adlers.
